Antivirus companies fined over charges (Guardian Unlimited)

The world's two leading antivirus companies have been fined for automatically charging customers to renew their subscriptions. McAfee and Symantec, which make the computer industry's most popular virus protection software, each agreed to pay $375,000 (£230,000) in fines and costs after a complaint was brought by the New York Attorney General's office.
